Her Voice

A short film following a young woman processing her grief after returning home from a funeral.

Her Voice originated as an excuse to make a simple, minimalist film made up of a single character, in a single space, lit by a single light source. It explores the relationship between grief and isolation, and the nonpareil vulnerability we are able to express when we are truly alone.

Her Voice is currently making its festival circuit, and will be exhibited here once that circuit is complete.

Old Texan

Old Texan tells the story of James Lacy Thompson, a 96-year-old WWII veteran, in his own words.

Built from a single, 5-hour interview between James Lacy and his great-grandson, filmmaker Brett Bailey, this film is an intimate portrait of reflection and recollection. Beginning during his youth in the midst of the Great Depression, it chronicles a story of struggle, war, love, humor, and loss, all of it retold straight from the horse’s mouth. Old Texan is a tribute to our ancestors, and to the great histories that still live among us.
