PAL follows Tessa Schwartz, a young woman who works as a hired friend for the lonely rich. When her newest client begins to develop an unhealthy attachment, Tessa must find a way to navigate their increasingly strange relationship, or else risk losing more than just her job.
PAL is my BFA thesis film from Emerson College. I wrote, directed, and colored the project, which was shot entirely on 16mm film. Making PAL a reality involved writing 22 drafts of the script, fundraising over $4,000, and coordinating over 15 cast and crew members across a 7-day shoot.
PAL received a Silver Award from the Independent Shorts Awards and a nomination for Emerson’s EVVY for Outstanding Cinematic Achievement.

In collaboration with musician Ian Ahmad, October is a music video that tells the story of a young man mourning the end of a recent relationship. After languishing for days in his apartment, he goes on a walk in the park and discovers something unusual that may be able to help him move on from his heartbreak.
The song is an original piece by The Shortcakes musician Ian Ahmad. Starting from the song, I wrote, directed, and edited this narrative music video, which was filmed in the course of a single day.

A music video set to Oingo Boingo’s song by the same name, No Spill Blood is a stylized, expressionistic retelling of The Island of Dr Moreau. In this version of the story, the animals are both the oppressed and the oppressors, enforcing Moreau’s mad doctrines upon themselves and punishing any who revert to their animal ways.
With a minimalist set and no dialogue, this music video seeks to tell its story entirely through movement, visuals, and editing.
I conceived, directed, and edited this project. The set and costumes are of my design, and I collaborated with a makeup artist and choreographer to complete the stripped down, expressionistic vision of the film.

Tavern Song is an original EVVY-Award-winning musical written & directed by Giavanna Mariano. The show tells the story of Bridget MacIntyre and Kieran Drummond, star-crossed lovers set to be married when a group of rambunctious pirates arrive in town, throwing the local inn into chaos.
As Tavern Song‘s videographer, I fully orchestrated the recording of the show from beginning to end. I planned the shoot, rented the gear, and managed audio while operating two cameras during the run of the show. I also edited and colored the final product, delivering a complete, dynamic recording of the 1.5 hour show and creating a small trailer for promotional purposes alongside it.
